WHAT IS UNTRAINING

Not traditional training! While training is often the go-to approach to improve performance, in most cases the results don’t meet expectations. UNTraining breaks the code. Instead of so-called experts telling students how to do something better out of a book or using hypothetical scenarios that never really apply, we’re on the front line with your employees.
UNTRAINING IS UNCONVENTIONAL & INNOVATIVE
With UNTraining, we join departments, work groups and teams as embedded coaches. We’re not leading the group, we’re part of the group. Except, when behaviors turn unproductive, we step in, call time-outs, review the slow-motion together, and help the group improve then and there.

Take conflict, for example. When a conflict is brewing or full-on, we call attention to it in front of the full group and examine what triggered it. We discuss Conflict Intervention techniques, and challenge the group to determine which technique to apply in the particular case. We do it together and everyone learns, including the supervisor or manager.

Taking the conflict example, instead of the conflict running its course between 2 or 3 people while everyone else sits around watching it, we solve the conflict, make sure its solved to everyone’s satisfaction and move on.
